Outcome 1b- FRBR
FRBR is a model that is used to help guide catalogers on how to determine what type of materials are being cataloged. FRBR provides a framework for describing a work and determining what kind of information it contains. Using the framework of FRBR is fundamentally helpful for any librarian that works with circulating materials.
Outcome 1d– 702 Self-Censorship Presentation
Self-censorship is an ethical issue that many librarians face during the course of their career. This is a local issue that snowballs into a national issue if librarians continue to censor collections due to patrons raising issues. Librarians who are entering the field need to understand the role that librarians play in regards to keeping the library an ethical place that is open to everyone. Patrons potentially raising challenges or questioning the value of materials should not prevent librarians from doing their jobs.

Outcome 1c- Practicum journal Excerpt
Participating is a practicum at UIC was an experience that allowed me to see how librarians interact in a professional setting. I was able to see how professional standards inform the way that libraries maintain collections and run a library. Attending departmental meetings gave me a better idea of what departments have to do to keep functioning at an optimal level.
